These terms set out the conditions for using Ddolbeng Picture Stories (“the service”). Using the service means accepting them.
The service is a comic-making toy for children that runs in a web browser. It is free, and needs no sign-up and no install. There are no purchases and no advertising anywhere in it.
The service is built to be used by children directly. Anything that cannot be undone or that leaves the device — language and sound settings, deleting a story, saving a picture, linking an account — sits behind a three-second press-and-hold.
That check exists to prevent a child pressing something by accident. It does not replace a grown-up's supervision. Screen time and the setting in which the service is used remain the guardian's responsibility.
The comics a child makes, and any words they type, belong to the child and their guardian. We claim no rights over them, and we neither read nor use them.
The service has no feature for publishing or sharing a child's work with other users. What becomes of a file downloaded through “save as picture” is entirely the guardian's choice.
Comics are kept in the browser's storage on the device you use. They cannot be recovered — by you or by us — in any of these cases:
The account link in the grown-up settings keeps a copy in one of five save slots, which can be loaded on another device. That copy is written only when a grown-up presses save; nothing uploads automatically.
The characters (Ddolbeng Friends), backdrops, sounds, text and software of the service belong to us. You are free to enjoy them personally, but may not copy, distribute or use them commercially without our prior consent.
Some of the object artwork is redrawn, in this service's own style, from Microsoft's Fluent Emoji (MIT licence). Copyright in those originals remains with their rightsholder, and we claim no exclusive right over them.
Per section 4, work a child makes is not covered by this section.
The service may change as it is improved. All or part of it may be suspended for operational or technical reasons; where this can be foreseen, it will be announced on this site.
The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Nothing here excludes our liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.
If these terms change, the change and its effective date are posted on this page. Changes unfavourable to users are announced at least seven days in advance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
